15 Months

Zach went to the doctor for his 15 mth check-up today. He is doing great - Here is a link to some of the milestones for his age. Zach absolutely loves to color with markers/crayons/pens/whatever will write. I just have to remember to give him paper before he has the crayons! He is running everywhere and just figured out how to climb onto the furniture. He really enjoyed opening presents at Christmas time - now if he sees a present, he immediately wants to open it! He loves to point out body parts - feet, belly, eyes, nose, tongue, and ears. He enjoys his Little People Farm and will bring the correct animal to me when prompted. He knows the cow, horse, pig, sheep, farmer, rabbit, turkey, and duck. At one point, he knew a couple animal sounds too, but now he seems to growl for everything but the rabbit.

We finally made the big car seat transition and turned his seat around to face forward. He likes to point to cars on the way home each day and say "car" "vroom vroom". Which actually sounds like "ca vroo vroo".

The only concern the doctor has at this point is Zach's weight. He is doing great with Head size and Height, but he is very much underweight. He just dropped below the chart into about the 2nd-3rd percentile for his age. Zach is 30" tall and weighs 19lbs. 10oz. (You are not supposed to turn them around in the car until 20lbs - we had to b/c his legs were getting cramped up facing backwards) Dr. Buffa feels that he is genetically little and will most likely be fine - we just have to make sure he doesn't keep dropping. And by the way, this kid eats! He is not really picky and usually gets seconds at school for lunch. I guess we will just keep feeding him fat milk and yogurt!

If you want to I could get him in on some protein shakes that I take. We'll put him on a protein based diet Lifting 4 days a week with 3 days of cardio-gotta keep him toned. See if he can't pass up the world's strongest kid. If you haven't seen this kid...it is crazy how toned and big he is. But it's not impossible Zach.

I was curious after I read this post and went back to Eli's 15-month post. 30.5 inches and 19 lbs 13 oz. But he bulked up and made it into the 5th percentile this past check-up... so Zach will be just fine :)
