Leaving my Baby

Well, tomorrow we leave for San Francisco for almost 5 days! This will be our first time away from Zach.

I know his grandparents will take good care of him, but it is still hard to leave my baby!

My Little Bird

Yesterday afternoon, Zach had to go to the doctor. Just as I suspected, he had a double ear infection. Round ? of the antibiotics.

When I give Zach his medicine it always reminds me just how dependent on us he really is. He always opens his mouth like a little bird and just takes whatever I give him. It is like he is saying "I know you will make me feel better so I will drink this yucky stuff just because my mommy is giving it to me" What a sweet little boy!

Blowing Kisses

Yesterday afternoon, when I picked Zach up from school his teacher blew him a kiss and he did it back!! She had been teaching him all day long!

Of course he wouldn't do it for dad - won't be long though!

Giving Kisses

Zach gave Chris and I a kiss yesterday!! I asked him for a kiss and usually he will ignore you or turn his face away. Today he looked right at me and opened his mouth! (I don't know why they think kisses are done with an open mouth??) I thought "No way - that was coincidence" Chris tried too with the same results! Of course this morning, there was no chance of kisses! I will just treasure the few cuddle/kisses moments that I get!

St. Louis Zoo

We went to the St. Louis Zoo over the past weekend. It was a nice day (hot - but not as bad as it has been). We walked almost the entire zoo - wow is that tiring! Zach enjoyed the larger animals. It was hard for him to see the smaller ones because there were lots of kids crowded around and I couldn't exactly plow through them with the stroller -- :) fun thought though-- The butterfly house (inside the Insectarium) was really cool - there were butterflies flying everywhere!!! Zach thought it was pretty neat too. The best part of the day was the Dippin' Dots Ice Cream. Dad had chocolate and Mom had Cookies N Cream. Zach had both.

Poor Baby

He just keeps bonking that little forehead! (the bump is on the side he is laying on)

He Figured It Out

Hooray - Zach figured out the Plinko toy! He is now dropping the ball into the hole! Now if he would just figure out that he is capable of walking....

He just won't let go!! I know he can do it!

Baby Plinko

I found this cool toy for Zach that is like his own version of Plinko and a walker all in one. We sat down with it and the ball and I showed him (over and over) how to drop the ball into the hole on top and it will come out of one of two places.
I was watching him play with it on his own and his version of the above steps go like this:
Zach holds the ball over the hole at the top. Then he sets the ball in the spot where it should come out of the toy and lets it roll into the stop position. He figured out how it goes in and where it comes out, but he doesn't realize that it goes through the inside.

What's with Dad's Face?

Zach has quite an interest in Chris' face. He just loves to grab his nose or eyes. (For some reason my face just isn't as interesting as Dad's - he leaves me alone - for which I am thankful, Zach's grabs can hurt!)

He now found "Handles" to grab onto when riding on Dad's shoulders.

Playing

Zach just keeps digging for more toys - I think he doesn't believe it is really empty and that is how it ends up on his head.
