A Little Scare

Zach was reaching for a toy in the bathtub and slipped. He lost his balance and somehow went from sitting/reaching position into a roll and then onto his back. The look of shock on his face was priceless! The water wasn't even deep enough to cover his face, but it scared him none-the-less! The whole thing lasted maybe a 1/2 second, but seemed like slow-motion. All I could do was laugh! Poor kid!

New Obsession

Zach has figured out that he puts his coat on before we go somewhere. The past couple of days he has been standing next to his coat (he can't pull it off the hook himself) and screaming "Coa". If we tell him no, he melts down into a fit. I figured out that if we put it on him, he is happy (I don't know if he forgets about going somewhere or what?)Saturday night he slept in his coat. Here are a few pics of yesterday in the coat. There could be worse things.....

The Elmo Chair

Zach received the Elmo Chair for Christmas and he just loves it! It giggles and vibrates whenever you sit in it (or bump it at 2am in the dark - scary!).

The Winter Illness

Zach has Bronchiolitis again (we went through this last winter too). For now, he is on the breathing treatments every 4-6 hrs. We only had to fight him the 1st 2 times. From then on, he has been wonderful. When he sees us get the machine out, he helps unwrap the cord and tries to get on the couch to "assume the position". What a sweetheart!

Our Weekend

Friday night, I went to Meal Makers and made some yummy food! It was a good time - I am pretty sure we will do it again next month.

The storm was beginning to get nasty on my way home from Meal Makers. Around 4am Friday night/Saturday morning we lost our power. We made a fire in the fireplace Saturday morning and burned the last of our firewood. Then we called my dad to see if he had power. We were in luck - so we packed up and went to his house. Later in the evening, our power returned- so we packed up again and went home. Around 11:30pm we lost it again! We went back to Dad's house Sunday morning. Everything was great until about 3:30pm when he lost power. We went back to our house and Alecia had found us more firewood. We all slept in the front room in front of the fireplace Sunday night. Finally, around 3:30pm yesterday we got our power back! What a happy moment!

Here are some photos of our yard and my dad's yard....

I want to Color!

New videos have been posted to YouTube.

Here is one of my favorites from Christmas-Zach wanted to open his crayons and color - he just wasn't interested in any more presents after he got new crayons.

Big Boy Now

Last week when Zach returned to school from the Holidays a few changes were made. C was moved from his classroom and N came over from the infant room. This meant that Zach is now one of the older kids and N needed the crib for naptime. (They have 4 cribs and 4 cots in his class).

ZACH GOT MOVED TO A COT!

Wow - I can' t believe it! And, according to his teachers, he is doing fantastic! He played a lot at naptime in the crib - now he is going right to sleep.

Miss Lisa sings a song to each child at naptime and Zach has picked it up too. "Night Night Zach, Night Night Zach, It's Time to Go Night Night"

Zach sang himself to sleep one day for naptime "Ni Ni Ba" He is saying Night Night Baby! He was also singing this one day in the car.

15 Months

Zach went to the doctor for his 15 mth check-up today. He is doing great - Here is a link to some of the milestones for his age. Zach absolutely loves to color with markers/crayons/pens/whatever will write. I just have to remember to give him paper before he has the crayons! He is running everywhere and just figured out how to climb onto the furniture. He really enjoyed opening presents at Christmas time - now if he sees a present, he immediately wants to open it! He loves to point out body parts - feet, belly, eyes, nose, tongue, and ears. He enjoys his Little People Farm and will bring the correct animal to me when prompted. He knows the cow, horse, pig, sheep, farmer, rabbit, turkey, and duck. At one point, he knew a couple animal sounds too, but now he seems to growl for everything but the rabbit.

We finally made the big car seat transition and turned his seat around to face forward. He likes to point to cars on the way home each day and say "car" "vroom vroom". Which actually sounds like "ca vroo vroo".

The only concern the doctor has at this point is Zach's weight. He is doing great with Head size and Height, but he is very much underweight. He just dropped below the chart into about the 2nd-3rd percentile for his age. Zach is 30" tall and weighs 19lbs. 10oz. (You are not supposed to turn them around in the car until 20lbs - we had to b/c his legs were getting cramped up facing backwards) Dr. Buffa feels that he is genetically little and will most likely be fine - we just have to make sure he doesn't keep dropping. And by the way, this kid eats! He is not really picky and usually gets seconds at school for lunch. I guess we will just keep feeding him fat milk and yogurt!
