Happy Birthday Lukie!

We were invited to a birthday party for one of Zach's classmates. Zach and Luke have been at the same center together since Zach started at 3mths old. They used to lay on the mats in the infant room together and "talk".

We had a wonderful time and it was so nice to be invited. The boys had fun outside of the school setting and Luke got lots of fun gifts, especially the 4-wheeler (see below). Zach wasn't so sure about the Spray park at first, but he quickly got the idea from the other splashing children. (Oh and don't you just love the pic of the three boys together - ADORABLE! - It is Luke's brother Josh, Luke, and Zach)

Luke was so excited about his new toy - he obviously didn't want to share (what 3 year old would), but after a few laps around, he let Zach get on with him. How sweet! Zach was estatic - of course, now he wants one too...

Happy Father's Day!

New Windows

Here are some pictures from installing the new windows this weekend. Many thanks to my dad, Chris's dad and Uncle Bobby for sacrificing their otherwise healthy bodies for the job. And to Nana for tending to the little ones all weekend. We decided to stimulate the economy by buying windows instead of taking a vacation. Good choice.

Poison What?

So over the weekend, we did some cleaning up in the yard. I spent most of the time ripping out vines and weeds along the fenceline. Little did I know that I was allergic to what I was pulling. Sure enough, Monday evening I started breaking out on my face. By Tuesday it was all over and my eyes were beginning to swell a little. (I guess it was only on my face because I cleaned up when I came inside. Luckily I washed it off of my hands/arms before it caused a problem) I ended up going to the Dr. for some steroids to clear it up. These pics are after a day or two on the steroids.

I did a lot of google searching before I finally decided to go to the doctor. I learned a lot about poison ivy and I don't think that is what I had. I am pretty sure we have Virginia Creeper in our yard and it seems that some are allergic to this plant in the same way we are allergic to poison ivy. Leave it to my sensitive skin to figure this one out.....
