Big Day for Owen

Okay - so the title is a little off.... I think it was a bigger day for Mommy.

The last bag of frozen breast milk. Owen starts formula full-time today!










Owen also moved up to the size 3 diapers today!

1st Zoo trip this summer

All sunscreened and ready to go!













It was a really hot day so we spent a good amount of time in the Bug House where it is air-conditioned. We only saw about 1/3 of the animals because we were hot and tired. The prairie dogs had babies - they were the cutest little things I have ever seen, but they were too fast to get a good picture.

My New Addiction!

Okay, it is only sort-of a new addiction.... I have always been a bargain shopper, but lately I am playing the Walgreens game!

This can get really complicated, so stay with me here..... At Walgreens (apparently CVS has a really great program too, but we don't have those here) you can use a store coupon from the weekly ad and a manufacturer's coupon and a Walgreens Monthly Easy Saver coupon on each item you purchase. So, if you find the overlapping deals here you can save A LOT of $. Also, there are usually two days in each month that the monthly coupons overlap - that is how I got the deal below.

Oh yeah, this so much FUN!

PS - there is a $10 off your $30 purchase Today Only. The $30 has to be after all Walgreens sales and coupons. Therefore I was actually short of the $30 and had to add the chapsticks on to use the $10 coupon. Otherwise, I wouldn't have gotten those. But we use it like crazy so it will come in handy.

Play Time

Zach and Owen playing cars together. Most of this time is spent by Zach explaining to Owen "Don't do That!" and Owen doing it anyway. For example, Owen just loves to roll up the carpet piece with the roads on it. Zach says "No Owen, we drive on the road. No Owen"

Owen was also playing with the hat. So Zach put it on his head and told him "Owen, we wear hats on our heads."

We thought it was about time for Owen to try some "real" food....

Up, Up, and Away......

Owen is trying to pull up on things now! Here is a picture of him trying to pull up on the couch. He has also pulled up on his bouncer seat and in his crib. He can't quite get to his feet yet, but can get up on his knees.

Just like Big Brother

Owen loves to play with Zach's cars and trucks. He "drives" them back and forth on the floor like he knows exactly what to do with them. It is a good thing Zach was outside and didn't see Owen "eating his toys".

Owen is really moving now! He loves to be "free" on the floor and cannot stand to be confined in his highchair or bouncy seat. Now if we could just get Zach to share his toys.....

Zach's First Trophy

Since Zach turned two, he has been participating in the Gymnastics On Wheels program at his school. A bus that has been completely emptied and turned into a small gym comes to the school once a week for gymnastics. He absolutely loves it and was so proud to bring home his trophy today. (The trophy is for participating the full season) They also sent home a "report card" that listed what Zach could do. Wow - he is really talented and I had no idea he knew some of that stuff. This kid never ceases to surprise me....

New Illness

The latest illness in our house has been diagnosed as "Hand, Foot, and Mouth Disease".

Owen and Zach came home last Friday with a low-grade fever and they were both VERY irritable. The fever is gone, but the crabby boys remain. Hopefully, they should be feeling better soon.

Zach's Newest Response to Everything.......

WHY?

Right now we are able to respond with "because", but we know it won't be long until we get "because why". Hope this stage doesn't last too long.....

PS - Owen doesn't actually use a pacifier. He just scoots after anything he sees. His favorites right now are your shoes or the remote control.

I'm a Big Kid Now!

We finally got the highchair out for Owen! What a big boy....

What a good boy! Zach survived multiple long car rides this weekend. This is Zach on the way home from Pop Pop's funeral in St. James MO.
