Well, Dubuque was hit again overnight. Chris thought it would be funny to take my picture scraping the car. He seems to think that just b/c we have a garage, I NEVER have to scrape my car. Maybe less then other people, but I have done it before!
And this is a pic of Owen before we made it out of town for the car ride home.

Fun in the Snow!
It had recently snowed about 12" in Dubuque and we got even more Christmas night. Zach, Mom, and G had fun playing in the snow! Dad watched (as to not get his cast wet) and took pictures.
While we were playing outside, Owen was taking a nap. A little while after we came inside, we heard laughing from the back bedroom. Here is what we found. Zach said "Owen was awake!"

Christmas in Dubuque
When we finally made it to Dubuque, we were really hungry and ready to get out of the car! There were no restaurants open on our drive and the gas stations didn't have much to choose from. I didn't even see hotdogs on the grill..... We will have to remember that for our next Holiday road trip! After we had a bite to eat, it was time for present chaos again!
Nana made the boys capes. They are awesome. Zach and Owen each got two and they are reversible. They can pretend to be Batman, Spiderman, Superman or my Favorite "Z-man" or "O-man"!!

Christmas Morning
This year was a big one for Zach. He is understanding more of what is going on and it made Christmas so much better for him this year. He was VERY into opening presents and couldn't understand why we leave some under the tree (they weren't for him). Owen enjoyed ripping the paper, but I think he liked climbing the presents even more!
Zach got his helicopter from Santa. Here is what he said when he opened it, "Oh shoot, I wanted a red one!" I couldn't believe it. We told him Santa must have been out of red ones. He was okay with that.

Chris' Surgery
Today was the big day for Chris' surgery. We had to be at the hospital at 5:30am. That was really early just to sit and wait... Chris went in for his procedure at 7:30am and I did not hear from the Dr. until 11:30. It was only supposed to be a 2hr deal. Turns out there was more damage to the lunate bone than originally suspected and a bit more repair work had to be done. Chris was in a lot of pain when he got out of surgery, but it is getting much better with time!
Here are a couple pictures of the swelling (this is 3 days later)

Visit to Santa Claus
Ready to Go
Santa arrived by Helicopter
Zach waited patiently in line, walked right up to Santa and told him what he wanted for Christmas - A Helicopter! (And just for fun, a pic of the last time we took him to see Santa - we didn't even attempt last year with Zach and the brand new baby)
Both boys with Santa (I will have to scan the shot of Owen with Santa at daycare - he was screaming scared like Zach above!) I don't think he had time to get scared with this Santa....
Zach and Mom doing "Christmas Crafts". The school had the gym set up with tables and a project at each table. Each project was 1 ticket/$1. Cool idea. Zach made a potholder and a picture frame. Mom made a beaded keychain.
